Exactly. I'm terrible at reading books I buy or check out from the library. :P

I like this. I'm seeing names that I recognize. Recognize and like, which is even better. The Master and Margarita is the first thing on my Christmas shopping list. It's a good thing to hear that you are a fan of the author since the book gives me the impression that it has the potential to BREAK MY BRAIN. Plus I can't figure out which cover I want. Because it matters.

And I agree with your Stephen King opinions. Some of his works resonate and some of his works have the most laughable plot twists. And some are just bad. (I'M LOOKIN AT YOU DREAMCATCHER.)

Anyway... anyway... hello new friend. :)

Oh man, I'm the worst for that. My sister loaned me The World Of Jeeves and a book about Confucian and Taoist mystics almost a year ago, and I still haven't read them. And then there's the pile of second-hand books I picked up because they were ungodly cheap and pretty looking: Antony and Cleopatra, Vanity Fair, and The Three Musketeers.

Every time I pick up a book that isn't a text, it reminds me that I really should be doing something else and I get distracted.

I'm interested in hearing your thoughts on 1984 when you finish it! That is the only book that has ever upset me to the point that I had to close it and go outside and stand in the sunlight for a while. A very interesting read.

Actually I agree with you on a lot of this. :). I, too, dream of being published, oh yes...

And King does indeed have a hit or miss career. To me, that's because he has half a dozen brilliant novels he keeps writing over and over again. But "On Writing" could not have been more useful.

And "Howl" is up there with "Harry Potter" and "Neverending Story" for brilliance in children's lit, so I look forward to seeing what you thought of it when you're done. :)

I do, however, tend to finish books I borrow from the library. :p

I suck at reading, too. These days it takes me months, rather than days, to read a book.

I renewed the current book I was reading 3 times till I wasn't able to renew it anymore. :P
