Be runnin' up that road, be runnin' up that hill, be runnin' up that building

Greetings to the people who friended me at the bookfails friending meme! You're about to learn how demented I am. Don't be afraid to turn back now! (YES/NO) /Lost Silver reference

I picked up Howl's Moving Castle from the library yesterday. I'm absolutely terrible at reading the books I bring home. Anyone else have the same problem as I do? You find a book at a library, you're utterly absorbed into it, you get excited, read the first chapters and decide, "Hey, I got to check this out and read it at home!" You do, but then you go on the Internet and do your usual thing and never read it. It's like as soon as I check out or buy a book, I've cursed the poor thing to be unfinished. I've got tons of books lying around my house on my To Read list: 1984, Watership Down, The Master & Margarita (I know I'm a Bulgakov fangirl, and not reading this book yet is a goddamn shame. ;;), The Tenant of Wildfell Fall (don't ask) that collection of Lovecraft stories with the Mike Mignola Cthulu on it, etc. Then there's a bunch of Nabokov sitting there neglected like Ada, Invitation to a Beheading, Speak, Memory... my apologies Nabokov. ;; Naked Lunch sits unfinished, but I have a good reason this time. Oh my poor broken brain. XDDD;;; I ♥ what I've read of Howl's Moving Castle though. Nomnomnomnomnom~

Stephen King is hit-or-miss for me (I like some of his ideas, but his executions can get hokey and leave something to be desired. :P) but I've received the best advice from him in On Writing and that book has been a big influence on me as a novelist. If I get published and I have get my work praised by King, it'll mean a lot to me. ;; Burning Candles by Tabitha King and Michael McDowell... another book I own and haven't finished. Whoops. XDDD;;;

I'm a super-slow reader and writer as far as you can tell. /Slowpoke

I'd discuss the novel I've been writing from NaNo '10, but I'll mercifully spare you for now. Thank the angels above! Being a published novelist and joining in the fellow ranks of Rowling, Carroll, Palahniuk and Austen is my lifelong dream. So you can say I take the craft seriously. ♥

i need less tags, fwends~!, reading, uh oh puri's thinking, writing, we're not worthy! we're not worthy!
