I'm very happy about the Obama win, but Prop 8 looks very likely, if not certain to pass here in California (and I know the same sex marriage bans passed in Florida and Arizona already). It's so depressing and sad to know America is ready for an African American president, but not gay marriage. I think it's probably still 10 or so years down the

I was thinking the same thing this morning. I am very happy Obama won, but it makes me so sad that Prop 102 passed. I had felt a certain pride in Arizona - being the only state to reject a ban on gay marriage. We can only hope the environment will change soon.

I just wonder if Prop 8 passing how those people who did get married will be treated. Are they grandfather claused in? Is there marriage no longer valid? Does that set a precedent that could have further ramifications? And the Proposition in - was it Florida - to ban couples who aren't married from adopting children. It is just so mean spirited.

But I will try to focus on the win and hope and keep working against those losses - right?
