SUMMARY: Hatred turned to love, silence turned to seeking and lies become truth. Kota just hit the rock bottom making him realize that memories should not remained unlock. He seek for truth, he yearned for what really happened and why things are going this and that. But what if he is going further to what is already near to him? Is everything gone too late to change? Everyone is given curiosity and so will you open the box as well?

Chapter 5
"Search"
As I stood there tilting my head from left to right. I can’t seem to see the shadow my eyes longing to see.
Disappointed, Kota went back to the park where he leave Kei but as he search for him he was not around anymore. He thought he waited for him since he just ran away without telling him but there is no Kei, standing there, when he came back.
He was not expecting that he will react like that when he saw his friend’s silhouette. They didn’t see each other for months and he never even say goodbye to him and so he wanted to talk to him and clear everything between the two of them but when he followed him he suddenly vanished from his eyes. He is like a ghost who suddenly dissipates in front of him.
As he walk forward he saw the crowd formed in the Central Park which was probably the concert of Isshon that Kei was talking about. He said that it will be the last concert of the group in that place since they will going to debut and will not have time to perform free for the public. Like he was expecting there are lots of people around and they are so happy, shouting and raising their hands up high as they enjoy the music being played for them. Kota was also enjoying what he is hearing but since his mind was disturbed a moment ago he can’t concentrate at all. They were doing some talking to the fans when all of a sudden the band leader decided to choose someone to come and play with them in front of the stage. He chooses and then all of a sudden everyone’s eyes were stuck on Kota who was standing there all alone. He was confused at first what is going on since he is not actually listening to the talk part.
“You can sing right? And I guess you can play guitar too?” the leader asked him.
Kota was hesitant to say anything at first. His love and talent for music was only keep into himself and he never tried to show it to the public because he always have this doubt inside of him if he can do it or not. “Y...yeah I can.” Kota replied softly.
“Yosh… come play with us.” The leader said and then that made everyone of the audience clap their hands as Kota went up in the straight with a puzzled look thinking if he is doing something right. As he step his feet on the stage’s floor and look up at all the audience watching the band his heart started to pump so loud and fast. He never experience being look up like that and also the lights was so bright in his eyes. The band leader gives him the guitar and asked if he knew some music of them.
But Kota was just standing there without responding to the leader of the band. He was just looking in front with all the audience clapping their hands and talking and uttering sounds. He can’t hear them clearly and so those words that were coming from their mouth were turning into an unbearable noise. His sight also started to get blurry and he felt nauteous.
“A…are you alright?” the leader asked again as he noticed something wrong with Kota. He looked pale and it seems like he was irritated with the bright stage he is standing on. He is about to tap Kota’s shoulder when he suddenly slap it away that made the leader surprised and even the audiences who saw what he did.
“So…sorry… I can’t do this.” Kota apologized as he run away from the stage and to the crowd.
Kota ran away as fast as he can, didn’t care who he will bump on his way. He can’t understand what is going on but he knew it was not the first time that he felt that way. He always thought that there was something wrong with him. He felt unbearable fear even there is nothing to fear. He didn’t want to be touched by others coz he have this feeling that they will going to choke him to death. He didn’t want crowd because he felt suffocated and cannot breathe. He knew that everything that he was suffering at the present time is because of his past that his mother tried to hide from him so much.
He arrived home but without saying anything, even he saw his mother, he just went straight to his room and locked the door. He sit down on floor and hug his knees that was trembling in fear. “Why am I like this?” he whispered and he was surprised when he heard knocked on his door.
“Kou… what happened? Do you have problem?” Suzanne asked him from the other side of the door but Kota didn’t respond to her. What’s the point of telling her? She herself was always avoiding his questions, his doubts. She always said the same answer repeatedly and so he got tired of listening to her own excuses and same answer all over again. “Kou… Kou…” she called again but still Kota didn’t say anything and just let her keep on calling his name like that. He felt so alone and lonely and without him noticing tears just fell from the corner of his eyes and that whole night he just sulk in at the corner of his bed without changing his clothes nor eating his dinner.

Kei sneezed as he entered the classroom. He caught a cold because he got wet because of the rain yesterday but he still decided to go to school because they have a quiz that day. He wore his mask so that he can’t infect others. As he sit down Hikaru approached him and asked if he was just alright and he just nod his head. “By the way Kei-chan, these boys are talking about Yabu.”
“Yabu? Why?” Kei asked him.
“They said that he went to watch Isshon’s performance yesterday and he was called to perform in front together with them but he was petrified and stiffened and then he walk out.” Hikaru explained what he just heard from the other guys inside the room. “I didn’t know he have that side of him, so he still know how to be nervous huh. It doesn’t suit his personality.” He giggled.
“I wonder if he is alright.” Kei muttered.
“Don’t you think it’s funny? He got stiffened in front of so many people. It’s like he embarrassed himself or something like that.” HIkaru laughed but Kei just stared at him so he stop what he was doing. “I’m just joking.”
“It doesn’t sound like a joke to me.”
“Why are you being serious? Tell me honestly Kei-chan, why are you so close to that guy? After all the things he did to you, you still side with him? Is he hypnotizing you? Threatening you? If ever he is doing that then just tell me and I will punch him on the face.”
“He is not that type of person Hikaru. Yabu is nice.” Kei answered and then at that exact time Kota arrived at the classroom and everyone was staring at him. He just sit down directly to his place and then he saw Kei also looking at him. “Good morning Yabu.” Kei greeted normally but Kota give him a cold glare like they are back from the bottom.

Kota can hear the music coming from the theater even he was in the library. It seems like the program that Kei was talking about when they are in the music room the other day was starting. Students are allowed to watched the program but only limited number of students can enter the theater that time since it was occupied by some VIP’s from other schools. When he decided to just go back home, Hikaru blocked his way. “What do you want?” Kota asked him seriously.
“Can we talk?” Hikaru asked him back.
“Here?”
“No, in the Skyline.” Hikaru answered. Kota sigh as he followed Hikaru to the theater. He doesn’t have any plan to go there but he wonders why HIkaru brought him there. As he entered the theater the curtain was close. He remembered that time he first entered that theater and watch the Pandora play.
“What it is you need to talk to me and you even brought me in this place.” Kota asked HIkaru.
Hikaru didn’t answer for a moment until a piano piece started to play and the curtain opened and Kota saw Kei playing the piano in front. He didn’t know that he have a part in that program and so he was surprised. “Kei is a nice guy and because of that he have lots of friends and he is easily accepted by people. Playing piano is one of his passions and he is really great at it.”
“Why are you telling this to me?”
“Coz I want you to treat him nicely.” Hikaru told him. “I don’t like the fact that Kei is doing his best to be kind to you but you are shoving him away? I don’t know the reason behind why you act coldly towards him or no… you did that to everyone actually but I really didn’t like the fact that you treat Kei so badly.”
“If you didn’t want to see me act that way towards him then why don’t you tell him that he should leave me alone?”
“But Kei is the type of person who is persistent, the more you tell him to avoid this, the more he will do his best to get closer. And that is one thing I really like about him. Kei is a precious friend of mine and I really really really adore him and so I don’t want you to hurt him and the like. I don’t want that smile on his face be vanished and so I am warning you.”
“I told you…” Kota tried to explain himself but when he looked at Hikaru he was already glaring at him.
“If you ever hurt Kei… I will not hesitate to punch you in the face.” Hikaru said and then after a few seconds that serious look on his face was gone and he smiled. “Yosh… time to watch Kei’s precious performance.”
Kota didn’t leave the theater either. He also watched as Kei play the piano. Since the first time he saw him playing that same grand piano he will not deny that he was amazed by his own music and even envy him at some instance. How can he play so calmly like that? If only he can do the same thing then things will be easier for him.
As he exited the theater and decided to go back home he was shocked when he saw someone familiar in the front of the gate. He immediately run towards him and stand in front of him. “Yuto.” He called.

As he was looking at his watched, Kei sneezed. He was waiting for his mother for minutes already but she was not coming back yet. “Mom is late. I wonder what happened.” He whispered. His phone ring and it was a call coming from his mother telling him that she will be late for an hour because she need to do some errands and ordered Kei to stay in a nearby restaurant while he was waiting for her. Kei have no choice and so as he stand up on the bench that he was sitting down. He was surprised when he saw Kota standing on the other side of those bushes behind the bench and he was talking to someone. He immediately sit back down as he hide himself. “It’s Yabu right?” he muttered. He sneak a look from the bushes and it was really Kota who he saw and he was talking to a guy who almost have the same height as Yabu.
“I am not wrong. I knew that it was you who I saw that day. I thought we will not see each other again. You just suddenly vanished from our town and then I just heard that you are here in Tokyo and so…” Kota said. “I miss you.”
“I also heard about what happened to grandma. I’m sorry that I was not able to go to her funeral. I am busy here and so… I don’t have time. What do you want to talk to? Why did you send me that message?” Yuto asked him.
Kota hug Yuto all of a sudden and that surprised the latter. “I miss you… I really miss you. I thought I will not see you anymore.” He repeated.
Yuto pushed Kota away from him. “What are you doing? We are in the public. Don’t do unnecessary thing besides didn’t you received that letter that I give to you before I go? Didn’t I told you… I wanted to break up with you.”
“I didn’t believe it. You are just joking when you write that right? There’s no need to pretend. I am here in Tokyo as well. We can be together again and so… I… I was so lonely when you are gone. You know that you are the only one left for me right? Now that grandma was gone… Yuto… you’re the only one I have.”
“It’s not a joke.” Yuto emphasized. “I made things clear to that letter that I don’t like you anymore if you don’t want to believe that then let me tell you something. I am already dating someone here. He is a second year university student and our relationship is going well. I leave you for months, don’t tell me you are anticipating that I will come back to you?” Yuto asked him back.
“Why? Why do you need to do this? I thought… I thought you like me?”
“That was before… Kou, people’s feeling change. I just realized one day that I don’t like you anymore and so… I leave you.”
“You’re lying right? Tell me your lying.. I…I always wait for you to come back… I always… Why? What did I do wrong? Why do things need to end like this when we are happy together?”
“It’s only you who was happy. I…I was never happy together with you. Never.” Yuto replied back. “But you didn’t do anything wrong. It’s my fault so rest your mind and don’t think about it. I came to just tell those stuffs and to make things clear for you.”
“Then what’s the point of you telling me that we should be always together? Everything fade away, all my memories in the past was vanished but that voice saying that words remained in my mind. It’s you who said that right? Why did you say that if you can’t do it?” Kota exclaimed.
“Coz it’s not me… who said those words.” Yuto whispered to himself but he just bite his lower lip as he clenched on his fist. “I… I need to go. I’m sorry.” He turned his back but he startled when he felt a hand hold on to his sleeves and a head lean on his shoulder.
“Don’t go.” Kota whispered on him. “Yo…you’re the only one I have. Please… don’t leave me alone.”
“I’m sorry.” Yuto said before he started to walk and finally vanished from Kota’s sight. Kota remained in that position for seconds. Earth’s weight is above his head and it was so heavy to lift up. If there is one person he wanted to stay with him forever then it will be Yuto but now he just leave him alone with an unknown reason.
Kei saw and heard everything and he was stunned with what he just seen. He was about to sit down straight when he sneezed again and not just ones but thrice. He startled when he heard the rustle of the bushes from his back. “Did you hear everything?” Kota asked like he knew he was there. Kei planned not to answer and just leave but even he thought that he still didn’t leave. “I know you are there. I saw you when you stand up a while back.”
“It’s like a scene in a drama.” Kei replied back and then he chuckled and then truned serious again. “I’m sorry… I overheard everything.”
“I look so pitiful, aren’t I? Being dump so desperately like that… I feel like a trash. Are you going to tell this to others? Are you going to make another issue about the new comer? He was gay and dumped by the guy that he loves so much, disgusting.”
“Why will I do that? I will not gain anything from it right?”
Kota chuckled when he heard Kei’s answer. “Lame.” He whispered and then silent for seconds. “Have you experience to fall in love?”
“Me? I did.”
“Then you can understand what I am feeling right now right?” Kota said as his voice sounds he like he is about to cry but he was just stopping it. “It’s painful… my chest is hurting so much. What should I do?”
“Then why don’t you cry?”
“Are you stupid? Who will cry in front of everyone?” Kota asked him. “I can’t…”
