I loved the way that a few bleats of outrage by the extremist fundamentalist nutters, Christian Voice, gets reinterpreted as a "storm of protest" by the Scum.

The Sun is a vile rag. I wouldn't even use it to line a cat litter tray.

From what I understand, every news outlet has been horribly fucking up the Black Canary Barbie story. A whole bunch of "OMG GOTH SLUT" crap with maybe 1 in 5 actually mentioning that it's based on a comic character.

But that is a collectors Barbie, it isn't meant for kids, they are usually about £40, no one spends that on a child's barbie.

Newsarama had a fairly amusing interview with Amanda Conner, who designed it. Even she initially heard the media furore without making the connection to THE DOLL SHE HAD DESIGNED.

In some ways I think it's for the best that Murdoch's minions couldn't be arsed to do their research - because otherwise we run the risk of them actually looking at some modern comics, and then it's going to be Wertham 2.0.

Sorry, reread that and it sounded as if I was having a go at her, when it was meant to be at the sheer distance of the story from anything recognisable by the participants. Incoherent rage there, marvellous.
