I hate falling dreams

I always find it very relaxing when I'm lying in bed and I start having this falling sensation, like suddenly whatever's underneath me has disappeared and I'm sliding downwards, like I'm literally falling asleep. I guess we're talking about something different?

If I'm lying on my back suddenly my feet will slip (shush, it's a dream) and I'mm jerk awak again like I fell over. With panic. Last night I was also sinking into my duvet and pillows, so on top of falling and jerkingawake, there was the rising panic of drowning.

Ah, we have very different sleeping habits, it seems. Sometimes when I can't fall asleep I'll visualize myself falling down an endless series of tunnels, or down an endless roller-coaster drop, and it'll help me relax. And as for the bed clothing... I can't sleep unless I'm totally mummified, with as many blankets and comforters as I can lay my hands on wrapped tightly around me, with just my nose sticking out.

(Of course they only STAY wrapped around me until Sue gets chilly, then they all go away...) ^_^

I have that occasionally, and my whole body lurches. Its all rather peculiar and not nice at all.
