I went out to the local bike shop and took some test rides. I was a little shaky at first, since I literally haven't been on a moving bike in decades, but I guess what they say is true -- it's just like riding a bike. I'm looking to buy a bicycle now that I live in a place where it'd actually make sense to own one. The thing is, I haven't had a bike since my middle school dirtbike days. My last phone was very long in the tooth and outdated (about 3 years old, which is ancient technology in this product market), so I was enough of a dork to get up early yesterday for a Palm Pre. Yay, I just beat inFamous (on the "good" karma path). Lots of fun, though the last boss was a little frustrating. And it totally makes me want to play a sequel now that I've seen the big revelation at the end, but it still manages to wrap everything up nicely. I picked up inFamous for the PS3, and am adoring it so far. It's a super-hero game developed by Sucker Punch, creators of the Sly Cooper games (which I also loved). The platforming feels very much like that game, though instead of cute little animal thieves it's full of humans and mutants ( Read more... )

Okay, I can get the Susan Boyle phenomenon, but every week now I turn on the news -- national or local -- and they're showing some other clips from that Britain's Got Talent show.
