Oh. Oh, honey. God this fic breaks me. The thing I've always loved about your writing is the ability to not only construct the story framework itself and make THAT heartbreaking, but all the texture and colore you IMPLY in the interstices. For some reason, the thought of Atlantis rejecting John HURTS ME so much (I think I told you this before). He's so...weird about giving his trust and his open affection and you know he thought Atlantis was safe. John gives his love to THINGS and Atlantis most of all because they're not like people

I was originally going to rotate the POV through it, but Ronon insisted he wanted to do the talking, and I think that ended up working pretty well. Oh, Ronon.

Oh. Oh GOD, woman! I... okay, first off - I miss your fic. Like reading fic you've written in a fandom we have in common. You rock rather a lot.

And SAM, dude...it's ultimately apocalyptific AS WELL as being in Ronon POV AND AND OMG being this lyrical-symbolic-maybekinda John/Elizabeth/Ronon. I just...no words.

There are so many beautiful lines and moments in this I'd just be quoting them all back at you. But the one that will stay with me is: a place where the laws and rules of nature grow sharper and stronger. Water runs downhill, metal seeks magnets, light moves at a constant and broken edges reach for one another to form a whole.

Oh, oh oh! I'm so glad you linked me to this. I have no idea how I missed it when you posted it.

This is fantastic. Simple and aching, with the start-stop of John and Elizabeth being reminded of who they were and who they are now, and Ronon just...being. It's very much about him, in most ways, and all the references and tie-ins to his Running days were inspired and spot on.

I just--I love this!

Like I said a few places upthread, I originally planned to rotate POVs, but Ronon's view really caught me. Like you say, he just...is. He holds on and he fights like hell and damn it, he WILL be standing when everything else falls down. I kind of love him.
