As much as Quinn was adoring seeing Kurt and Blaine step right into Daddy mode, she was somewhat relieved when she was given some time to herself with Kyra-Belle. She had carried this tiny person inside of her for nine months, and she loved her more than she even knew was possible. That being said, there was nothing in her that would ever lead to her wanting to go back on her word to Kurt and Blaine. To the contrary, it only strengthened the bond between her and the two proud daddies. Kyra-Belle's birth, and seeing the Hummel-Anderson family grow would forever been a treasured memory to Quinn -- except, perhaps, for the parts where she was threatening the sex organs of every male within a five mile radius -- and it had been her honor to be a part of it.

It was with that particular wave of thought going through her head that Quinn sat on the edge of her bed, staring down into the tiny face that was so Kurt that it astounded her. There was very little of her that she could see in Kyra-Belle, and in some way, she thought that made it ( ... )

Jeremy took a few more tentative steps into the room, even if there was part of him that was technically still hovering awkwardly. He hadn't spoken to Quinn since that day in the park where he told her he just couldn't cope with the situation as it stood. He tried to keep an open-mind and an open-heart, but it was too much confusion and uncertainty for him to wrap his head around. She had that commitment at the time to be a trio with Kurt and Blaine, to give them their baby, however that situation played out and it was just too much of an intense thing for Jeremy to find a place he easily fit in all that. He had to cut his losses, because Sebastian had been right... Jeremy had been the one who was left hurting and it hadn't been a nice feeling. It was confusing and strange, and he wasn't a guy who did the best in extremely complicated situations. He preferred a simpleton life. Not that there was anything completely normal about him. He was a male nanny, for pete's sake, but he liked things that could make sense for him and not send ( ... )

Quinn's eyes followed Jeremy as he came a bit closer, unable to tear them away from his face. She truly hadn't expected to see him here, even with the knowledge that he'd been in the hospital for the entirety of the ridiculously long time that Quinn had been in labor. They hadn't ended on the best of notes, and Quinn had honestly missed him every single day since they parted ways. If nothing else, that had been a red flag to Quinn that this wasn't just any guy she'd dated. She had connected to him in a deep way that made it far more painful to face the prospect of losing him than she would've expected in the short amount of time they'd known each other. But her situation had been a complicated one, and she had been part of something very special, but something that left little room for other people to get involved in. She was well aware of that, but she was also aware that her part in creating this beautiful life and bringing it into the world was well and truly over, and she could slot herself into the role of doting and loving ( ... )
