Ryan's introduction wasn't so in your face like most OMC's. I like that it was in Stiles' POV, and that he wasn't so annoying. So kudos for that. I think the important thing for you is not to make him a know it all, and if he has some flaws that would be a nice touch to him. Cool chapter, btw.

I like that Stiles was all like "He and Ryan must be friends." I know in High School whenever there was a new kid people would judge whether or not they'd be friends almost instantly so that part was pretty realistic imo.

Yup, Gary Stu is the male equivalent to a Mary Sue. And I think I've done some reading and stuff on it, and Ryan isn't really turning out to be a Gary Stu so I'm happy.
