Oh, this is lovely. Though I'm a sucker for happy stories, I like how you've ended this on a more fragile, urgent note. I now feel the need to reread and rewatch some Tanuma-heavy Natsume arcs. Thank you!

Tanuma has this way of making me sad when I think of him and I have no idea why. I'll have to give writing a happy story for him a try - and rewatching some arcs might be the best way to go about it. Tanuma and Natsume interaction has always been a favorite part of the anime/manga for me.

The length and description here are perfect. Also, we must have a lot of head!canons in common, because this is exactly the kind of nightmare I imagine Tanuma having offscreen after one of the story arcs he gets involved in.

Our head-canons matching is all kinds of awesome. I don't know what it is about Tanuma, but he makes me want to write sad!fic.
