i have to say that this was the nicest treatment of these 2 characters i have ever read. sweetly sentimental, but still able to portray the realities of falling for a vampire. Yi-che was never fully fleshed out in the movie, in large part possibly due to time constraints. here you let her shine softly and that allowed Kei's inherent gentle nature to shine as well. good job!!
this will bear reading again. i think i'm becoming a bit of a fan. ^ ^

Thank you so much! *blushes* Reading your comment made me incredibly giddy and happy.
I would have loved to see more of Yi-Che in the movie, especially with regard to Kei (who is my favourite character by far anyway). The interactin there ist seems to be so gentle and soft, barely more than glances. And yet I thought there had to be something deeper, I believe Yi-Che not liked Kei but was in love with him. Her mind replaced her husband and father of her child with a man she had only met on barely a handful of occasions, after all, and that's showing something.
Thank you for commenting. I'm glad you enjoyd In Your Eyes, and I'm still blushing mad over the fan-idea ^^

Oh, I'm so very glad you like it! I was literally checking my LJ for your comment every few seconds because I was so very anxious to see whether or not this appealed to you at all. So glad it does!

*hugs back*

The idea started more drabble-like to be honest. I wanted to write an extension to the beach scene in the way that I have done in this longer fic now. But when I went back to watch the Kei/Yi-Che scenes from the movie, I realized I wanted to include that sweet first meeting in the park and THEN I just wanted to give them so much more and it all piled together to... this.

What you said about the profound and true and subtle feelings in my fics... I do not know where they come from, seriously. Some of them, I can tell you as much, are my own beliefs. As for the rest... I don't know. It just comes to me when I can relate to a character on the smallest level...

What you said last must be one of the greatest compliments I have ever received. Thank you so much. *hugs tightly*

aah~ haha, see? it worked! review denial xD *just kidding*

yes, the feelings are there, but i could never put my finger to it the way you can. thats why youre the writer and im the painter ;) i remember the feeling itself, the state, the expression, but i cant put it into words or create a story based on it.

what? the movie script thing? thats not a compliment, its fact.

*eagerly waiting for your next piece of art*

Ah, you called my writing art... I just teared up. *sniffles* Thank you so much. This means a lot to me.

For a lack of better words, I think because I lack the talent of painting, I try to paint with words. Does that make sense to you?

Well, I'll definitely have to work on AYIS Chapter 03 next, hm? *smiles evilly*

you made everything in the movie have so much more weight. i always loved the ending scene where they all gathered at the beach in the sun and always thought of it as them finally being able to go there; in the afterlife and smiling.

and now, you've made me tear with this.
beautifully written.

Thank you so much for your review. The ending scene of Moonchild is, to me at least, one of the most touching endings I have ever seen in a movie. It gives such a nice sense of closure to a bittersweet story and made me think that despite all the hardships (especially for Kei), they did find happiness in the end.

I’m glad you liked it. And I hope the tears were not too bad ;)

I don't read many Moonchild fics, but I have to say, this is by far the best one I've read (And it's also a het! ;D) It's so beautiful! It's romantic and gentle, but it also portrays the realities of a relationship like theirs. Nice work!

Thank you!
I actually don’t write het that much. I feel more comfortable writing slash, so this was a challenge of sorts. I’m glad that the emotion between the two comes off as romantic AND realistic. Thanks for the feedback!

just felt the urge tonight and came back and re-read this one before finally hitting my pillow. the more times i read this story, the more i love it. it stands as my favorite MC fic due to the rarity of the treatment with Kei + Yi-Che, and i mean a ~plus~ rather than the standard X as this is more about emotions than sex. and i really love how you were able to take the few scenes they share in the movie and flesh them out to become so meaningful. 8 ( ... )
