Well, that was an almost-year, wasn't it?

In other news, HAI MY FRIENDS I'VE BEEN IGNORING FOR LIKE TEN SODDING MONTHS!

I don't really know what happened... one minute I was an internet-freak, the next minute I was still a freak, but less inclined to tell people all about it.

Over the next few days (or, I dunno, eons) I intend to revamp and jazz up

My life is very boring, idk if I can come up with five things...

1. I finished my thesis fieldwork. The end is in sight.
2. I was told I have to move, currently looking for a new place.
3. I... got into American Idol fandom. A little. Um.
4. I've been doing a decent amount of writing. If interested, hit the 'my fanfiction' and 'my poetry' tags on my LJ.
5. ...nope, don't have another one. Still alive? Yay?

1. I retired last September.
2. Enjoying a hot summer where I can go swimming every day in a lovely lake
3. The chance to spend more time writing.
4. Getting a writing professional to appraise my two original novels and being told that it's worth having a bash at finding a publisher for them.
5. Several fun meet-ups with Primeval friends.

Oh yes, THIS.

My what happened to me:

1. I got a job! Research Fellowship at Magdalene, Cambridge. *is still squeeing*
2. I passed my PhD viva (and should get my ceremony later this month, so should be a Dr soon)
3. My boyfriend got a new job and is becoming an accountant.
4. I got immersed in land comms (well, just two, but...).
5. Most importantly, I fell in love with Matt Smith's Doctor!

2: Got over idiot boy and am now enjoying my life.

I know! At first I thought I had to concentrate on making friends out of the strangers I was living with, and then I just never found a good moment to get back in, between dissertations and house meltdowns :P

To be fair I was fairly bogged down with my dissertation too, though worryingly enough I now miss doing it. We must swap dissertation gossip sometime. In any case, I'm glad you are back!

1. I finished the first year of my MSc and obtained a postgraduate certificate. Year 2 here I come!
2. I passed my driving test
3. I bought a car.
4. I made some amazing friends at work.
5. I totally became obsessed with all things Glee ;)
