Chordant / Tactile Nostalgia

Yesterday: Hung over. Dealing with goopy financial matters. Car stalled out in rush-hour traffic. Late returning to work.

Walk, B movie, early sleep last night.

My mind has fallen mostly silent the past few days.

today )

smells, memory, body, music, seasons, sex, drinking

Sounds nice! Gotta get a more functional car so I can get in such driving soon! Maybe even into Arkansas ... .

I love the jar even. Winter depresses me thoroughly and subtly. I am ready for its death rattle. :)

Yeah, it is pretty. I just prefer to see it in photo or picture or your incredible descriptions. The cut in the air nearly kills me. Maybe I should consider moving south ... .

Ah, looks like I'll be in SF in early April. Reading on April 8th:

Spring's been around these parts for the last couple weeks. Plum blossoms, rhododendrons, ANTS, BEES; I'm digging it.

Let me know when you'll be around, anyway!

Man, I hate I'll miss it! Would love to hear you read!

I'll definitely be in town the first week of May -- already have it set and everything! :: He vibrates excitedly::

Should've known you'd have a nose and eye for spring yourself. Bees and rhododendrons sound incredible!

Spunk with no need of pride. Earnestness and the rattle of old cars. Elemental and inchoate. The glad fact of dirt.

The day will come when your first manuscript arrives in the mail. And I will thrill like a lark in the morning air.

Awww! I'll most likely bring the unfinished mere jonathans when I come. Maybe scratch it a little towards the more completed phase while I'm on your West Coast. :)

Thanks so much, R! You know you'll always be privvy to read along the way, advise, and cajole.

wow, my other half just bought Sugarcubes and we've been listening to it in the car all weekend. And I had chocolate for breakfast yesterday. Good vibrations.

coming to Memphis in March for a medical conference, BTW.

I think it's the first Sugarcubes album. I have The Best Of but haven't listened it recently. Still, I told my other half the best birthday present this year would be to have Bjork at my party in a fabulous extreme outfit (her swan dress would do) screaming today. . .is your birthday. She turns 40 this year like me, I believe. It's nice to have an artist you admire the same age as you, don't you think? Alas she has a prior engagment.

Yes, dinner or something sounds great. I think it's the first or second week in March.

birthday is one of my favorites, great lyrics ... .

Let me know for sure when you're coming in and we'll see if we can set plans for dinner, a drink or something!
