I am fascinated by this Sanctuary. Is it a building with an outdoor courtyard? How do you have a bonfire? Do you camp there? Will the Faeries be dressed up or nekkid?

It's an old, half-delapidated industrial building. There's an enclosed section, a "patio" section (where walls and concrete floor but no roof remain), and a garden section, where soil and grass came in over the broken concrete and there are no walls and a few trees.

We've set up a den and temporary kitchen area inside. The patio has a small "firepit" in the middle for the fires. There's a solar shower, a barrel stove for heating. Everything is pretty rudimentary.

My guess is the local Faeries will all be in costume but showing SOME skin. :)

Here's a link to our site, but it's not been updated in a long while: www.riverspirits.org

Adams is amazing--lives here in the Bay Area. Adams at the Sanctuary--even better!

What do you know about him? I am curious. And ignorant.

Now ... He won't be at the Sanctuary but at the civic center downtown ... . :)

Adams is usually described as a minimalist, but he has not been trapped by his tagline. He seems to have an intuitive sense of the balance between the sensory deprevation and the syboritic extravagance that to me, is the raison d'etre in the minimalist approach. (Traditionally, the Japanese are the masters here, at least in the visual realm, (and also in the cuisine realm)but I digress!) His violin concerto is a wonderful example of his prowess. The recording with Kent Nagano is the one to get. He's recently done a piece on 9/11; I believe it's called "On the migration (or transmigration) of Souls." I haven't heard it, since I want to hear it live first. I'm delighted you will be introduced to his work in a live performance; its natural home.

Awesome! I love minimalism! ... Well, some takes on it. What do you think about Samuel Becket?

yeah I remember you mentioning recently that a wall had collapsed there. I'll definitely check out the site.
