Night before last: Lay in bed, shaking my foot, staring at the ceiling. Hum of air conditioner, no sleep. Cigarette after cigarette. Problems and frustrations zipped through my mind -- nto really pressing ones, just removed worries. At nearly 7, I fell asleep. Alarm went off soon after

I'm Bryan,pleased to meet you.
You write really well.
Even your entries that seem to simply describe day to day stuff are quite...What's the word?
They seem to convey a certain feeling that is meant to be conveyed,I guess I'm trying to say.
I see you live in Memphis.I've been there a few times since moving to Arkansas.
I liked a record store there, called Shangri-La Sounds I believe, and would stop there whenever I was in town.
I hope it's still there,as it's been a while since I've crossed Yonder River.
Anyway,I hope I don't bore you too much with my dull and belligerent nonsense, regarding my journal.

I used to go to Little Rock every now and then with a fella I used to see, and actually liked it as a nice escape from Memphis from time to time. Always went to Vino's, Armadillo's Hand, checked out the thrift stores. Since I grew up in a small town, I like getting out of this big small town and slowing down some.
Unless I am crazier than I thought, I think I picked up on the fact that you're in a band. What kind of music? Sounds like you're a pretty busy person, too, what with work, music, and a kid. Where do you play? Have time to read much?
Anyway, good to meet you, bub ... talk to you soon.

Sounds like you hit the main places ehre.Armadillo's Hand is a trip...The weird biker guys and old, weird heavy metal and stripper gear.
I'm in a band, but I'm not really serious about it yet. We're still writing and such, taking it slow.
We used to play Vino's a lot bck in the day in my previous band.
I seem to be inclined to play this fuzzy, ecclectic stuff that combines rather contradictory influences such as Leonard Cohen,Swans,Bauhaus, and say...Black Sabbath and old psychedelia and rural blues.
I stay pretty busy.
Long work weeks, plenty of time with my daughter and gardening.
I'm a martial arts geek,I'm trying to play music again.Sometimes I have to give into the demon called sleep. It makes for long days, and sometimes night.Time is my enemy.
I need more time to read.Lately it's just been history,old gardening manuals...More practical than enjoyable stuff,really ( ... )
