A mod comment on another game I'm in warned me about this. Now, while I don't have any paid accounts, I know several here who do, and thus I feel the need to warn you guys. The following has been copied verbatim from the mods at Luceti:

Thankfully mine hasn't been turned on to automatic payments, thank god. But blaaaargh, I wouldn't put it past those jerks at LJ to sink to a new low like this.

It seems to mostly be happening with older/longer-standing paid accounts, which further implies that it's a glitch in the system.

But no. The new low they've sunk to? Claiming that users - both American and Russian - are "liars" trying to "stir up panic".
