I deal with a lot of runners up here in vancouver canada, and it does sound like you are dealing with a very large muscular imbalance in the hips.
I would suggest that you go talk to the professors at the kinesiology department at your university to have them help you find the right person to help you. Or go and find a massage therapist who deals with fascial tissue release techniques or a rolfer or a KMI practitionerin your area.
also you may want to back off the amount of road running you are doing and try doing pool running 1-2 days a week to give your body a rest.
