I got told today that one of my Year 9 students credits me (along with his maths teacher) for helping him become a polite student who tried his best and achieves good results. In year 8 he was a bit of a pain, and often had negative interactions with his teachers. But after talking to some of his family, and realising that the reason we pushed him

That is indeed great to hear. It is lovely when you get feedback that you've made a positive impact on someone's life. I think teacher's don't get it nearly as often as they deserve.

I think teaching has a lot of draw backs... but it also is one of the few jobs where you get to truly influence lives.
