An anniversary and more on "Becoming Jane"

Wow, my journal here was exactly one year old yesterday! Crazy. Of course, I didn't start using it regularly until a little while later, but still. :)

My goodness, things aren't looking good for "Becoming Jane" over at AustenBlog.com, especially when you read the comments. Things like, "My biggest bugbear is Anne Hathaway. She is spectacularly ( Read more... )

I can't wait for the ext movie either!! (Well, so long as I've read the fifth book first, lol. I'm not there yet.) I'm disappointed that I'll be away when it comes out. :/

Yeah, Epic Movie might be better to save for a movie night rental.

Hum, I remember the Jane Austen fans going mad over the last version of P&P since the first trailers aired... LOL, it always happens! I'm glad I'm not a purist of any sort... I enjoy movie adaptations from books even if they take some liberties and I'm not surely going to blame this movie for spreading wrong facts about Jane Austen. LOL, actually it would be quite hard to make a film about such a normal woman who wrote such special books. It's okay to have some fun! Probably many people will think that this is an actual bio about Jane Austen but who really cares anyway? We have her books to speak for her and I'm more than ready to enjoy a romantic story from the regency period! :) I'm just hoping that this will be a good movie with a good script and good characters. This is the only thing I care for ( ... )

It's true, there will always be purists who are going to make a fuss about any Jane Austen movie. Ah, well, so long as it's good and stays true to the spirit of the book, changes are okay. :)

I heard he was going to be in "The Jane Austen Book Club." I'll have to rad the book before I see it, but it sounds like Hugh Dancy plays and adorable geek-type. He's also in a movie about the Brontës.

Austen Blog is great - especially when there are new Austen adaptations/movies coming out. :)

"Epic Movie" does look funny - I can't help but want to see it.... and Blood & Chocolate!

My aunt told me about Miss Potter first and said we should go see it like we all (me, my mom, my cousin and my aunt) went to see "Pride & Prejudice."

honestly, it's one of the best movies I've ever seen.
Really, that good? I really will need to go see it! I'm sure I'll like it. I hope it's a happy ending, though. Unfortunately, I know the outcome of "Becoming Jane" ... (I almost wish they'd take the liberty to make it a happy ending but that would definitely be pushing it too far and ruffle more than a few feathers!) Yikes, I use clichés too much.
