We had this last night...not only is it vegan (hurray! no dead bits or pain involved, unless you slice your finger or summat) it tastes like *the* business. Seriously, you'll be a culinary star if you whip this up for a friend/lover/acquaintance/boss

You know what I realised just the other day when I was thinking about you? When I was dirt poor and depressed I was constantly trying to come up with recipes that were cheap but also nourishing and tasty, and a lot of what I came up with was vegan ('cause animal products are expensive in more ways than karma, I guess). I got such a buzz out of pulling it off and was so pleased to be eating good food despite my situation that those recipes have basically become comfort food for me. Bar mum's rice pudding, my comfort food is vegan!

That is hella trippy - I just cooked a mushroom risotto tonight too. And I read this entry long after eating it. Weird. It was nice.
