8. Yes! I loved that: she doesn't give up on the Doctor, but she doesn't give up on herself either.

I haven't seen any of her TV stories yet, but I love her audios.

People kept telling me I was going to hate Mel. I almost gave up watching the Sixth Doctor's run because I utterly loathed Peri, so I wasn't enthusiastic about meeting someone else who was almost universally disliked, but I stuck it out.

And then she was on screen! And I thought she was sweet and cute, and maybe the actress was overdoing it a little at first, but she was happy and fun and wanted to be there! I thought she was adorable. I'm glad to see that not everyone hates Mel (or Paradise Towers! I love Paradise Towers!)

I haven't watched any of Mel's serials yet, but I really liked her in The One Doctor. I thought she and Six had a really good relationship and she was a quite capable person in her own right (especially since she had to put up with Banto Zame for most of that story).

mel is one of my favourites too :) i'm happy to see people loving her, and even more happy for such a genuinely good list of reasons to love her. these ar all awesome things. she is awesome.
