Bloody Monday 08, Haruma's acting, gut-wrenching

Nov 30, 2008 12:45

I actually don't have time for this today, but I can't resist the Haruma draw. His fire and magic just turns me into a squishy little moth to a flame.

Seriously, last night, he did it again. He brought his A-game despite the fact that Hiroki (Nari-kun) had the best lines, he best shots and pretty much the best everything EXCEPT he isn't Haruma, so ( Read more... )

He even had a few new ones last night!! Like I said, he's always got MORE of everything and I'm anxiously awaiting his new project.

I read the mangas, too, in both languages, but they don't stick. In any case, Haruma is being given VERY little to work with on-screen, thus the television version of Fujimaru does not truly register as interesting in my mind beyond what Haruma does with him.

I have to agree that he seems to be at his best in this drama. I never seen such a young actor with that kind of talent that just grabs my attention (with the exception of river phoenix. that man was brilliant). I really am turning into an extreme fan and looking forward to his future works. with his talent and looks, i have a feeling he'd be very well suited for hollywood films in the futureI'm completely agree with everything you've said. There was always a time in which I wondered if X-movie would have been much better if River Phoenix had been in it. I wish life had treated him kinder ( ... )

but with hope and support from fans, our spring horse wont have to worry about that. he looks like he's got it together.

The Hollywood system tries to eat the truly talented alive and poor River didn't have the support system he needed to remain with us. Haruma, on the other hand, clearly has a stable set of parents and friends. This is always on display when Takeru and Haruma are together. Takeru is extremely protective of Haruma and perhaps if River had been as fortunate, he would still be here.

critics would love him.

I have no doubt about this. His instinct for roles is quite remarkable. On the surface, there have been roles that might have suited him, yet in hindsight many of those would have been too simplistic. Haruma seems to go for the characters that force him to dig deeper and deeper. In a sense, he undertakes them because they're hard, not because they're easy.

if he is ever on the red carpet, i would just DIE! XD

Not me. I'd be on that red carpet screaming ( ... )

That's pretty much what my friend was saying, about how Fujimaru was not a very interesting character and Narimiya Hiroki had the best scenes. I told her that Haruma was acting out what he had given to him and he was doing a bloody good job of it! The scene where he realized he couldn't save his friend was absolutely gut-wrenching indeed! However, as painful as that scene was, I still thought Shiraishi Ryo was better.

About Haruma's physical reactions -- what my friend always likes to point out to me, he loves doing the O_O thing and his inconsistent yelling... I hate how I have to keep defending Haruma's acting whenever I talk to her about these things. I mean, c'mon! He's not even out of high school yet himself, give him a break. He's done a lot more than anyone his age! *sulks*

Narimiya Hiroki had the best scenes.

As a writer, I can say with authority that it is extremely easy to write the bad/evil characters. By definition, the lead bad guy is interesting because he taps into our hidden naughty sides. On the other hand, despite being evil, Maya and the other clowns aren't interesting at all.

I told her that Haruma was acting out what he had given to him and he was doing a bloody good job of it!

You friend also fails to realize that the role of a leading man is to actually make everyone else look good despite the fact that the burden is entirely on *his* shoulders.

However, as painful as that scene was, I still thought Shiraishi Ryo was better.

Perhaps it was an unfair comparison for me to make in the first place. Both had me in hysterics for vastly different reasons, thus, kudos to Haruma.

he loves doing the O_O thing and his inconsistent yelling...Well, he's inconsistent because he's still developing. He's only 18 and he's on the verge of making a big decision about his life in the near future and ( ... )

Gah! I forgot to mention that I signed up to be an extra on Bloody Monday yesterday but I haven't gotten a phone call from the staff. :( It's supposed to be today at around 5 pm at an undisclosed location. I'm starting to think I'm very unlucky in terms of these things, haha ( ... )

I'm starting to think I'm very unlucky in terms of these things, haha...

I always get what I want here the Japanese way. I tell a friend who tells a friend who tells a friend until it's done. Take for example, Act Against Aids. If things went according to plan, then 5000 of those tickets were distributed through "nepotistic" means, hence only 3500 were available for the unfortunate.

And this whole bs with "K"... it's been 8 episodes, I'm getting a little impatient, haha.

Did you notice how many characters have surnames that begin with "K?" I just hope they don't dig up Fujimaru's mother and make her "K" because then he'd truly be screwed up.

Heh I think Shiraishi Ryo has a bit of a soft spot on me. He's so utterly endearing and adorable. All the scenes he was in made me go "awwww". On the other hand, every scene Fujimaru is in makes me clutch my pillow and prepare myself for the worst, haha!I couldn't agree more and therein lies definitive proof that Haruma is a tremendously talented work-in-progress. Overall, Shiraishi Ryo is ( ... )

Woah. This episode really impresses me. I don't know why people are saying Haruma is over-rated etc. But at least to me, his acting is fine. I am guessing that probably Haruma wanted to do more or he probably thinks that he should have done this or that in a particular scene but I think he conveys his message straight to the audience.

Yes I totally agree. He is just 18. Acting comes with experience and I am glad that at this age, he is given such a role.

I am expecting him to do more than what he did in Binbo Danshi. He doesn't disappoint me at all. Just a span of over 1 year, he is able to do so much. As a fan, I am proud of him. XD
