I'm so very in love with this story! I always wished they would have explored the dreamwalking more on the show, it's such a cool concept. Much as I love Cass, Sam saving Dean from Hell was always how it should have been! The bittersweet ending is very fitting because hey, we all know where the road to good intentions leads. Even though it's not strictly happily ever after, you still leave some hope for the boys. And Sam not being able to handle the sweat on Dean's skin because of the salt, just wow, for some reason that really got to me.

I do have to say though that it is extremely unfair to all of the other authors for you to be the very first to post in this challenge. It sets impossible standards that no one else can possibly live up to because you're such a fucking fantabulous writer! I'm just kidding. (Maybe.)

What a flattering comment! I was really hoping for more dreamwalking in the show after that episode, too, so in a way this fic is a response to that. I'm a big fan of dreamwalking and they just seemed to be hinting at something they never delivered on. And as to Cas--I feel the same way! Love him to death, but always gonna wish Sam got to save his brother. I always prefer endings that are a little ambiguous but stick to hope over cleaner cut happy ones, because they feel more authentic to me. I'm so glad that worked for you in this case.

You know, my beta really liked that line, too. Haha, I love it. I never know what people are going to respond to, and it's so rarely what I expect!

Oh man! This was just... Everything was just right. Just right. I could not stop reading and went from frowns, to goofy smiles, to sighs... I really just loved this.

Dean feels so guilty and Sam think he doesn't know but he has known all along. He HAS always needed Dean and Dean actually gave him a way to satisfy that need that Sam just could not satisfy adequately before. And Dean just has to believe he's the corrupter, just because Sam is to dense to see what is right in front of him ;)

The hell dreams. Those were difficult. Knowing what Dean wa going through and that while Sam was getting to see him every nihgt, Dean was going through long streches without any touch stone.

Thank you for sharing this. I know many writers are never satisfied with what they produce and I see you had some problems with this piece, but truly it was beautiful.
