This story is sort of "Pippin Gets a Clue," isn't it? I like that it ends with a kiss.

I suppose unfortunately the next part is where he becomes aware of the ramifications of having to go up against Sauron and getting crushed under a troll (unless you plan on going movieverse and have them both go to the Black Gate).

I really like the way you describe Pippin finding Merry trapped under an orc with just the foot sticking out, the way Gimli finds Pippin later. Resonates nicely.

Thank you, I suppose that is what it is!

Actually, I hadn't planned on continuing on through the stories any farther, although I suppose I would have had to stick to movieverse considering I haven't actually read the books in years, and though they're next on my list after I finish rereading The Silmarillion and The Hobbit, I don't remember canon detailed enough to trust myself not to get things wrong. I've been a bad, bad fan :o(

But I did remember the foot and I just thought it so witty of Tolkien. I mean, what better way to find a hobbit on a giant battle field full of undistinguished corpses?

Thank you so much for reiewing my stories! :o)
