I know this is a very odd compliment--andI assure you, it is a compliment--but this sounds very much like two men talking. I've noticed, with no disrespect to other authors, that sometimes it's forgotten that even with long-time companions, men aren't always open and honest with their thoughts and feelings (though they can usually read them anyway). This piece felt very true to the characters and it makes it stand out all the more :) It made me quite sad but that was appropriate for the episode.

Heh. That very much depends on the characters... but that pretty much describes ALL my characters. Except perhaps Lucy Pevensie, and Reepicheep. Some of them are open with me and not each other, and some - like Gaius here - are secretive.
