Recs of the day!

Sep 20, 2008 01:19

Tonight (er, yesterday, now), kayloulee , sjazzmreow , phrasemuffin , and I went out for dinner dressed as pirates and then sat around on S's floor talking about slash for hours. Well, we three girls talked about slash and David listened.

Accordingly, Recs of the Day today are Cool Things I Think S should read:

Epistolatory Romance by missparaphilia . Harry/Draco. Not sure of the official ( Read more... )

fandom: pratchett, fandom: harry potter, fandom: good omens, fandom: neil gaiman, fandom: narnia, these things are aesthetically valid

omgyay! Thankyou! I feel so loved.

I'm actually rather in the mood for some non-HP reading lately, so am very much looking forward to getting stuck in (and duh, GO fic is always welcome). Just so you know though, I will be holding you personally responsible for any trauma or guilt obtained from my reading Narnia fic. Be aware.

In return, have some snitched. The ridiculous Marauder RP that's always good for a laugh and obscene overuse of capslock. And, well, obscenity in general, really.

I wish I could think of something to rec other than HP stuff, but my "other" folder is very (very) random and very (very) badly organised, and I imagine you've read any GO I'd rec already. So HP it is!

With Hindsight by kabeyk, because a) everything by her is astoundingly good (and her boys act like actual boys, realism pleases me :D), b) that fic is possibly my favourite fic ever, and is just so delicately handled, and c) Remus/James needs more love.

And Mirabella's stuff. The Shadow of His Wings is her big, intensly well thought-out, chaptered fic, but her ( ... )

With Hindsight is weird. Weird, I tell you. Beautifully handled, but screamingly weird. K agrees.

The rest: YAY PROCRASTINATION!

EXACTLY. Innit nice?
(I should probably say, a lot of her stuff can be a bit weird, but it's generally psychologically valid, even when it's completely mental (which it often is. The women knows comedy). Which is probably why I'm so enamoured with her. Oh, sweet realism.)

OMG and we just read Productive Extortion and it was hilarious.

There were people having a very noisy party next door and we contemplated going out and yelling 'shut up you're interrupting our porn' but we thought it might damage our innocent reputations.

(it's K) Also considering that Tockie has a theory that I'm the Other Woman as opposed to the Wife, she might decide that this stood as, well, practical evidence for my being the Tawdry Other Woman.

I just have this horrible mental image of the Wife's face if ANYONE ever yelled that line...

Which kind of makes me want to yell it.

You talk about bedlamsbard's work so much, but I've never read any of it. Will have to rectify that immediately, methinks.
