I was wondering when we would pick back up with Peter and Claude! :)
Another awesome part. The action sequence was very well-constructed and executed. I'm glad that Parkman is kind of starting to turn.
Damn, I know Peter didn't want Claude to, but they really should have killed Thompson/Thomassen. That is going to come back to haunt them, probably.
As great as Claude flipping out was though, poor Peter for being freaked out by it. Those two need to sit down and deal with a lot of things, but I doubt they're going to get the chance any time soon. Especially now that they have Noah in tow.

Yeah, sorry about that. I needed to catch everyone else's timeline up, since the characters are now starting to come together more.
Glad you liked this - I had fun writing it, when I could finally bring myself to start. Am really pleased with the last scene, so I'm glad that read well.
And yeah, Parkman! :D He's not a bad guy ...

Hee. Of course not. ;)
Yeah, that's just a powder-keg of angst, right there. I actually hadn't thought about it at all when I conceived this chapter, but it seeped through the cracks anyway! Probably all the Claude/Bennet I've been reading/writing this week.
Even without Claude/Bennet, I think Bennet is a threat in that it has to feel to Peter that there is a whole massive chunk of Claude's life he knows nothing about. But clearly Bennet does. Not to mention that everything in Peter's life is falling apart and chaotic, and the one person he should be able to turn to is part of the mess. Peter may be undestanding and love Claude, but even he has to reach the point where it's time for a serious talk, *g*

Yeah. I think it was sort of OK after they talked it out before, but that was before they became complicit in Bennet's escape (I mean, they were just going to leave, and not see him again for a while), and let's just say it's now a problem that's not going to go away anytime soon.

Yeah. Poor Peter! They'll have a little time to talk, but maybe not very much privacy for a while.
Thanks! Yeah, I know we were away from them for a while ... needed to get the other characters caught up so everything was happening at the same time ;) (my bad for being greedy and focusing on Peter and Claude a lot at the start ;)
Because although he was rabidly insane, Bennetti was the priority, and besides, Peter was freaking out. And Claude did care about that, red mist notwithstanding.
Wooooo Matt being less morally-ambiguous! *approves of Matt not being a tool of the establishment*
Well, I approve of Matt not being a tool in general, but I realise that's probably not what you meant, so I'll stop now. Yeah. He's kind of past his comfort-threshold now, so that's good. But still not out ...
They gonna bust into Birkenau now? Lay some smackdown on some Nazi bitches? With...two people and no weapons? IT WILL WORK.
*g* Patience, grasshopper. There's some stuff to do before that. But yeah, basically, that's the idea. Though you should know by now that things are never that simple.
Thanks for reading. See? Long chapter. Specially for you.

I accept your explanations with only a mild disgruntlement. (Which is, I am pretty sure, not actually a word. But it should be.

Oh, he'll get out. I have high confidence in him. And, one hopes, in you, if you stop being so damn cagey about everything. *glowers*

Patience are for hospitals. Nevertheless! I can deal with waiting for some Nazi smackdown as long as I am aware that there will, in fact, be Nazi smackdown. *settles in for the wait*
See? Long chapter. Specially for you.
My gratitude knows no bounds! Now keep it up. *cracks whip*
Ooh, I liked crazed!Claude. Friendships and loyalties still down there somewhere, huh?
I like Matt. I really like Matt. I hope he switches sides and is their key to getting through some SS-trap or something, and then he can stop wondering if he is a pestilence on the human race, and know that his son will be safe.

Yeah, definitely. Surprised even him, I think.

I'm glad if I'm writing him sympathetically :) He's not going to be a major part of what transpires, but he is important and I'm enjoying writing the process he's going through.
A visit to our friends in Birkenau soon, please?
Count on it. Though there's a few chapters of stuff need sorting out first. (Not for the first time, and I'm sure it won't be the last, either, I'm cursing the ridiculous ambition of trying to include pretty much all the major characters in this story!)
Yay! (Poor Matt, he should be slashed with Audrey, not hating her guts!) Claude is scary when he's angry ... reminds me of the episode 'Dalek' in Doctor Who ... *shivers* Can't wait for more!

I like talky. ;)

I think disgruntlement's a word. At least, I hope so, because I've used it myself, before now! Heh.

*g* Well, I can't possibly confirm all your far-too-prescient suspicions about my fic, can I? I mean, where'd be the fun?

I'm sorry - I could have sworn you said you were grateful.
