This had been the moment which he’d been dreading for, oh, how long was it, nearly two full weeks. He’d tried to back out this with every trick in the book, trying to convince someone, anyone, to help him make sudden plans for the same day, even today he’d tried to somehow convince Sorata that he was terribly ill and couldn’t join them that night for the ‘endless fun and merriment’ as said older Seal had so cheerfully put it. Unfortunately nothing had worked. At least he could revel in the fact that he wasn’t the only one who had been caught up in this, after all Subaru was being dragged along far more literally than he was, right?
Now, it wasn’t the fact that everyone else would be there and watching, no, people staring was something he could surprisingly handle. Nor was it the general place they were going to, so they were going to be stuck within a small room for several hours, he could last through that. It wasn’t even the activity which they were going to be taking part in, although he would be lying if he said that that wasn’t partially the problem.
No. It was the fact that not only was he being dragged along, currently by Yuzuriha since Sorata was busy making sure that Subaru didn’t run off, but he was also going to soon be thrust up onto the makeshift stage, with a microphone, being ordered to sing that horrible song and generally make an idiot out of himself while attempting to do so. Who on this Earth had allowed Sorata to pick the songs? And, for that matter, who had allowed him to give Kamui the song ‘superstar’? Could it get any worse?
...Yuzuriha tugged him down slightly; catching him off balance by the way she rather abruptly jerked his arm down. Before he could even question what she was doing she’d already pecked his cheek and quickly zipped off to join Sorata in his attempts to gather the troops and bring up the mood.
He stood there, rooted to the spot for a few moments, before sighing and shaking his head. No, on this occasion it would take a lot more than a reassuring kiss from her to get him to sing that.
