I love this! I've been wanting a Sarah/Kyle fic since "The Good Wound" aired and I finally found it. This is absolutely lovely and I'm planning on reccing this entire series.

You'll have to excuse me: I'm literally choked up by this and it is glaringly obvious to me how much I love these two and love it when they have their chance(s) to be together even if it is always bittersweet and fleeting.

That's exactly it for me. I'm really trying to find a balance with that, with Sarah still being Sarah and therefore a BAMF. But at the same time, she's really emotionally battered. She lost John (yeah, from his perspective it's been a few weeks, but from hers it's been almost two decades). She tried to stop J-Day and failed. She tried to find John and failed. She tried to fill his role and failed. So she's still one hell of a warrior, but there is something so beat down about her that prevents her from connecting with anybody, even Kyle.

I was hesitant but warmed up to Kyle reaching first.Yeah. I went back and forth about that. But for the same reasons I listed above, I can't see Sarah being the one to reach out this time. She's lost too much. She's too damaged. But at the same time, she's also so desperate for connection that there's no way she could turn Kyle away. Anyone else? Yes. ( ... )
