Join feminist_geeks! The community's open to anyone who doesn't identify as a man. I know some people will probably see feminist_geeks as being a bit redundant, considering we have i_g, but I found that a lot of people were interested in having discussions without having to read the opinions of dudes.

I also wrote a follow-up post to "False Idols and Integrity," and put this one in my own LJ because it was more personal in nature. Don't comment here about it, though, because I'd like to keep the Open Thread wank free. Feel free to air your opinions in the post itself, though--it's open to anyone, I think.

Yep, any member can make posts. And I'd love it if you put up something about ADWD's women!

I just want to get some advice.

I recently got an X-Box 360 and I'm looking for games to try. Do any of you have suggestions? I'm playing through Dragon Age 2 right now (and I love it so far) if that helps.

Thank you.

Assassin's Creed! All of them, but AC2 is the best one.

So I just read Charless Stross's rule 34. And, as great a book as it is on several levels, christ do I wish it had come with a trigger warning for some of the stuff :/

I've been thinking about reading Rule 34, if you don't mind me asking what the potential triggers are?

Basically, borderline sexual assault. there is a scene that was pre-negotiated rough sex with a safeword but throught it the woman starts getting heavily alarmed and feels violated/scared afterwards because she can't be sure if he would have respected the safeword. What makes it worse is the fact that it is written in seconfd person from her POV and that is the part I found worse than the actual content. She states later on in the book that she didnt consider it rape but just regrettable sex, but the undercurrent is there.

What the fuck is this shit. (New "Got Milk?" campaign focusing on milk's PMS-relief properties, but made all about the men with a "lol women are so crazy" angle.) I drink a huge glass of milk every damn day, and this makes me want to pour that shit down the drain.

I saw that and I wanted to drown the ad people in milk. And my PMS rage.

I've had my period for about 60 days now (AND COUNTING) because I have PCOS. I think we can effectively flood them.
