Mad World

So there's this song called Mad World.
I like it, it kind of takes me back to my angsty, super-cynical teenage days, but in a good way.
It shows up on multiple Pandora stations that I listen to fairly regularly. Today my Zoe Keating station played me a different cover of it by Alex Parks (youtube-link), so I googled it to see who the original ( Read more... )

As copy-pasted above, Zonaria is "blackened death metal"... which really intrigues me FAR more than 'black/death metal'...

The song is creepy as hell and really is _the_ tonal song for the movie. I can't listen to any other cover now without making the mental comparison.

That said, a lot of TFF was really downer music to begin with.

It's a wonderful song. While I certainly knew the Tears for Fears version, I think my favorite remains the Andrews/Jules version. Clearly it struck a chord that so many people felt drawn to it and spoken to by it!

I would LOVE to hear Renée Flemming's version...she is amazing.
