In seeking advice and counsel from all sides, I've come to realize that in my post-breakup period, I'm more or less alright. I've made my peace with all my friends that I was in conflict and did ask for further insight into my current state of affairs

Honey, it's just like I told you yesterday, on some level, part of you will never be okay with this because he was your first love, but you will however be able to make peace with it in your own time and on your own terms. I don't think that it really has anything to do with you seeking completion by being with another person, I just think that you truely loved Josh that strongly, that maybe it felt, especially at the time, that you could only be happy by being with someone else.

I know that you'll be okay, because I know you to be strong, and you'll get through this in your own time. Don't let anyone tell you that you're pining too much, especially those that haven't been in your situation. If you need to talk, about anything, you call me.
