I can see why this might have given you problems. You needed to do it, but it's been done to death and I'm sure you had trouble thinking of ways to make it unique and also advance the plot. I really enjoy your Harry's internal monologue and here that really worked to move this along. I'm glad that Harry refused to look gaudy and instead looked mature as he made his important points. I also loved that he realizes how much he still loves seeing what magic can accomplish. You did a good job with the little details that made all the characters recognizable and believable extensions of their canon selves. I was expecting Harry to talk more, but this speech is really more true to his character. He said what he wanted to say simply and to the point, no beating around the bush. Good job. I can't wait to see the reaction of the Slytherins to what Harry said about Snape.

And now that you're past the hard part, can I hope to get chapter 23 before next year? ;-) I'm glad you found two people to help you beta and kick around ideas.
