The book thing sounds awesome and it's cool that you're taking the initiative. I'd love to have my things read and hear what people have to say about them.

Are you worried about plagiarism? Because a few places that self-publish (like lulu.com) will let you have a copywrite and ISBN number so the stuff is yours and you can prove authorship of the stories.
