As January 1st of 2009 quietly creeping in like something untamed from the wild, with its flashing reflective eyes fixated on its goal, I kept bouncing up and down between calm and panic.

I decided this might be a good time to take a "gap year". It seems like a good thing for a person going through a mid-life crisis.
