Poor Ford. He and the Doctor would demonstrate their affection for the Earth by insulting it, but while this always seems to aggrevate Arthur when Ford does it, he's practically blithe when it comes from the doctor. Something to do with the way the doctor does it over a good cup of tea, perhaps, although Ford has his suspicions.
