I found that taking a brisk walk around the block would clear my head enough to get past my difficult moments when I was quitting smoking.

I tried the patch for a day and it made me CRAZY!! I never tried the gum, but I'm not much of a gum chewer anyway and didn't want to get hooked on another oral fixation to replace smoking.

good luck!

Take a brisk walk around the block instead. It's also your mind telling you to take break.

i used wellbutrin for a month + sugar free hard candy. my doctor was kind enough to prescribe wellbutrin for "slight depression" in order to minimize my expenses - apparently my insurer doesn't (didn't? it may have changed now) see much value in paying for zyban as a smoking cessation thing.

good luck!

I once used a non-nicotine anti-craving gum that I found really helpful. It was called NicoRx. From a quick search it looks like it's now Natra-Bio, and they have lozenges instead of gum. Seems like it's worth a try. It really quelled my cravings.

All I can tell you about Nicotine gums is that Nicorette made my throat hurt something terrible. It was awful.
