HAI GAIS.  Okay, so yeats and I are having a fucking amazingface, pathetichead conversation right now that could have happened about 5 years ago, back when Remus/Sirius fandom was experiencing a bit of a "heyday", and everything was still relatively hunky-dory, and like, stuff was still REALLY ANGSTY AND SHIT but at least NOBODY WAS DEAD OR STRAIGHT YET

Remus/Sirius was my first fandom OTP, the first slash I ever wrote (back when I was a 19-year-old who did things like refer to people's eyes as "orbs"), the first pairing other than the canon Rogue/Gambit in X-Men that I ever truly, honestly "oh hell no they can never, ever be paired with anyone else" shipped. It ate my life and owned my soul in 2002/2003 in a way no other pairing did until Captain America/Iron Man came along in 2007, and ultimately (with OotP) hurt me in a way no fandom, character, or pairing ever did or could until, again, Captain America & Iron Man (which makes me long fondly for the days when the worst thing that happened to my OTP was that one of them died, because in that fandom, massive character death is just the beginning of the misery
