I miss how awesome those days were and how into R/S I was--it was such an intense, crazy feeling of love shared by so many great people. I haven't really felt that way about any pairing before or since. My favorite time was when it was still a kind of obscure pairing but was finally starting to get some recognition (maybe around the PoA movie release?) but before it became overly popular. I still have so many unfinished fics.

I know, it was a really intense time - and I think what I see now is a kind of inevitable disappation of that original energy, but it makes sense, in some ways, considering what's come since in terms of new canon, but also just in terms of time passing. I think what's most extraordinary to me is how it STILL produces new blood - new readers who see what we saw, three, four, five, six years ago, and are so intrigued by it, and are still producing pretty beautiful, amazing stuff with the same kind of passion, even if there's less of it.

I think also, you know, even after three years of kind of being either mostly or entirely out of fandom (and R/S too), I find myself getting pulled back in. Even though I've "grown up" (whatever, whatever, hahaha), considerably, since my original forays, and my writing has changed quite considerably, I can't really leave these guys behind! I miss the community, to be sure - but I can't tell you how happy it makes me to touch base with all of you guys again, to know that we once
