Re hotlinking: Perhaps it would help if you define hotlinking in your post? I'm a pretty Internet savvy person, but I had no idea what it was until someone else asked the question. I had no real clue what bandwidth was either. This was well over a year after I had started visiting sites like LJ.

Hey, thanks for doing that, everyone says "no hotlinking" but hardly anyone explains. It wasn't a problem for me when I stumbled into LJ-life a couple of months ago because I know what the word means (though I still haven't figured out why people would hotlink icons). I wonder if it's worth you putting an entry on your LJ somewhere that explains what hotlinking is and, more particularly, how people should go about saving icons they like to their own computers (for the Mac users, at least, it's as simple as 'drag the pretty thing off the webpage and drop it on your desktop, sweetie', but not everyone will realise that) and uploading to a host like photobucket if necessary from there. Then you could just link your "Do not hotlink" rule to that entry so the people who need to can find out more. Just a thought

That is such an awesome, brilliant, and amazing idea! I think people just hotlink them because they don't know that there are consequences, for a lack of a better word, to it. I hope there's no one out there maliciously hotlinking icons, LOL. XD But yes, I love your idea about doing a separate post and then linking to it. I LOVE IT! Next week when finals are over, that's what I'm going to do.

I totally understand how you feel about getting sad. We must remember the good times with Tennant!
