Another winner :-) And a great Byakuya cutting loose story-- even when he cuts loose, he's still so stiff in some ways, and so unused to it! Over-analytical, over-rational, and yet, for Yachiru, he's constantly recalling and reinventing Byakuya. I love this ( ... )

I have been wishing for someone to draw some Byakuya and Yachiru. Serious and soulful sounds about right...sigh.

An emotional idiot...I love it. He kinda is, here, isn't he? Here she's thinking he actually did something romantic and from the heart...and he apologizes for waking her up. XD

He has a hard time reconciling the different aspects of his personality, that's for sure!

I adore this. I love the attempt at spontaneity, not really working for a man such as he - but bless him he tries. The classic throwing pebbles at a window to get his intended's attention warmed my heart. It was lovely and your prose flows beautifully.

I also loved how you play on the different aspects that make him, he. And how he tries to separate being a captain, a Kuchiki just to be with her, finally.

He was free to smile, she was free to treat him as her equal. He’d thought he’d remembered what it was like to just be a man and a woman together, but he hadn’t. There was no remembering such a feeling. The reality eclipsed any romantic notion he’d had, any belief that it was a thing that could be controlled. Beautiful.

I also adore his hesitancy and insecurity. A really wonderful piece that communicates the awkwardness that comes with new relationships.

I enjoyed writing him uncertain. New relationships do have those awkward moments and those doubts...luckily, Yachiru knew what to do. :D

I love how you put it - bless him he tries. So true. It doesn't really fit him all that well, but it's in him somewhere and he put forth the effort. :)

It doesn't really fit him all that well... Oh I don't know, whose to know what goes on beyond that mask of his?

Canon has certainly proved that his actions often belie his thoughts/feelings, so to have him here, doing differently - shows growth, and he's shown growth already, in the SS arc.

You did a wonderful job.

This was so effing adorable. You have a such a skill with writing them. :D

I love how apprehensive Byakuya was. How he thought he shouldn't show who he really is but only show his captain side. And them playing together was just lovely. I adored Yachiru's reaction when he apologized. It was so her.

Great story! :D

How amused you would be if you could see me as I read these stories... I sit here rapt to the screen, not really hearing the musik playing or anything around me. My hands are on my heart just like when I watch my beloved chick flicks (bc I am a completely hopeless romantik) and I cry at almost every story, but in a good way, with my eyes all misty and my breath catching in my throat.. just like every time at the end of "You've Got Mail" where they hug and he says "Don't cry Shopgirl" bc it is just the most simple, yet most sincere, sweetest thing ever... no matter than I've watched it so many times I had to give up my poor abused VHS last year and buy the dvd.

I adore this. So very truly adore this. The secret Bya, the soft, reckless, spontaneous, romantik Bya that he keeps to himself, safe from the world.. but he can't stop himself from sharing it with her... She makes him want to be that Bya...

Wow! Every time you comment on these fics, I'm surprised by how much you enjoy them...and to be so emotionally involved...I really don't know what to say but 'Thank you!!!'

It's all the more surprising because I don't consider myself a romantic at all...but then, I guess that's why I write these simply, and with some awkwardness thrown in.
