I hear you on the poor cute little car VS big evil SUVs.

Rain songs:
"November Rain" - Guns N Roses
"No Rain" - Blind Melon
"I'm only happy when it rains" - Garbage
"It can't rain all the time" - umm... something off The Crow soundtrack
"Rain When I Die" - Alice in Chains
And I think Madonna did some song called "Rain"

That's what I can think of off the top of my head

Then the rains came - f2 beat alliance (you'll have a tough time finding that one, but it's one of my most favoritest songs)

I normally hate country, but I love "Thunder Rolls" by Garth Brooks

Shadow of Seattle by Marcy Playground

and then I made the mistake of typing "rain songs" into google, apparently a lot of other people had the same idea to make rain mixes like this one

As for the SUV snow thing, I totally agree. After the big snowstorm, I decided "hey, I don't need to clean off my jeep" and drove away, snow flying off every which way. And then I pulled up to a stoplight, and ALL that snow came down and covered my windshield. I panicked a little and realized that maybe it was a good idea to clean it off when it collects. So I bought a longer snowbrush and I'll be doing that from now on.

If youre trying to tell me i should have googled first and asked afterwords, im looking for songs that are *good* and maybe I can make a cd with 10 or 12 of them. Irma's Rain CD... but i dont want 18 cds, and i dont want 10 crappy songs either. :) the ones i listed are the ones i *own* .. dang, i need more cds. ;)

As for the snow.. you should have just done a donut or two in the parking lot. that would have gotton rid of the snow. What i hate too is when short people who own suvs take the snow off the roof except for the little thin strip in the middle which then freezes and acts like a javelin. Going 70 mph! GAAA

nono, I didn't mean "haha you didn't google", more like "hey, read this list, I bet some of them will sound familiar"

hmm, donuts would have been exciting. Would have been a big F-U to all the people that were still trying to dig out their cars! I bet donuts in the parking lot on an airforce base would be likely to get me shot, though...

as for nxt week, anytime is good - I'd wait for you to just read the comment I posted back on my journal, but lately LJ has been waiting for like weeks before sending out email notifications

You can't leave out Creedence Clearwater Revival's "Who'll Stop the Rain".

Oh, and the same band's "Have You Ever Seen The Rain." I always get those two confused.

Would "Rain King" by Counting Crows count?

Though "Goodnight, Elizabeth" also talks about being the "king of the rain" (but not about rain itself).

Ohh, or "The Rain King" by Deborah Henson Conant. The mournful rhythmic sound of that song would work well... although the lyrics are somewhat silly.
