There are advantages to winter. It is a time of restful slumber, a time of pulling in. The blanket of snow outside my window provides a forced hibernation for many animals and plants. It is as if everything becomes suspended in time, waiting, listening for that cue that tells the world to break free from Winter’s firm grasp

Oh how inviting! I would like to some dance with you as the sun warms the air and the birds sing a new song. This is so uplifting. We who are waiting for the winter to pass can look forward to the new awakening. Lovely. Just lovely. :)

This was beautifully written. I truly felt how you feel just by reading your work. My two favourite seasons are Spring and Autumn. The extremes of Summer and Winter really don't go very well with me, so I'm excited also. For me not to need the heating system or the fan will be amazing.
Keep up the fab writing.

I know exactly what you mean about new beginnings. For us here, the end of summer and beginning of autumn is a bit of a new beginning, as we finally get some rain and relief from the heat... but even though our winter is mild, I still get that feeling of unbridled joy at the beginning of spring :) Your excitement about the change in seasons really comes through in this.

Spring and Fall are my favorite seasons. It's all about breaks from the heat and cold, but it's something more too. That is what I was attempting to capture in this piece.

I whole heartedly agree with your entry. I am ready for spring. We don't see the changes in the seasons the same way but there is something about watching the birds come back and seeing the trees come out of their slumber that just makes me happy.
