... It doesn't present any problems. It's not an illness, it was more of a foreign change in my DNA. And...I think Black knows, but I don't believe we've spoken much about it.

My, my, keeping something from him? Illness or no, it's an infection. Normally that means it is, in some way, transmittable... At least that's what it usually means. If it harms him, I'll be forced to take unpleasant action. That one is mine to kill. I won't have some silly infection weakening his defenses before I can.
