Bush doesn't have to follow 750 laws!

This article from the Boston Globe is a must read for all Americans. Bush has never vetoed a bill, he signs them, and then adds a signing statement. In the signing statements, Bush writes detailing how the executive branch will carry out the law. "I was told today that I must have to much time since I know all this stuff that's going on. I don't know hardly anything. How many people out there don't want to bother knowing whats going on?"

That's a rather scary attitude, because it's basically that that allow types like bush (and others) to seize so much power in a Democracy.

Hey thanks for replying. I have been putting this info out to so many people, and I've gotten only one response back, the "You got too much time. You need to find something better to do with your time...like watch my kids for me, they'll keep you busy." Excuse me, but I think this is important. I lived in the everything is fine, Someone will keep it in check. I've been getting madder and madder with every passing month at what is happening. Since I can't show up at the White House and tell him to get out, he's fired, I'm trying to spread the word. It's disapointing that I've gotten only one response from those in the "real world", and everyone else has ignored me. Am I chicken little? It might not get any worse, but enough has happened that I just... wish I knew what to do!

WTF!!!! Okay, first, thanks for posting this--I'm jacking it and putting it on my LJ--the word must get out. The US prides itself on being a strong democracy, but with Bush in office, that strength is quickly corroding. He's shown no problem going into Iraq unilaterally/over UN Security Council objections, and I think he's itching to take Iran. That brings up the issue over a draft (where else are we gonna get these soldiers from--the military is stretched way too thin) and the executive office basically saying "Screw you" to Congress and checks and balances. I don't know if he would be stupid enough to postpone a national election, but assuming he did, I worry that Congress, the Court, and the American would just sit back and go "Okay. Just so the Republicans stay in office/'the terrorists don't win." So frustrating...
