More flags, more fun, more ridiculousness

OK...so I haven't done much Googling on the topic, but I'm surprised that no one's publicly up in arms about the new Six Flags commercial.  If you haven't seen it, it basically depicts an  Asian man with a more-than-likely feigned accent, rating the "funness" of every day activities in comparison to the fun a person can have at Six Flags.  The ( Read more... )

I have yet to see that one, actually. I know the feeling, though. There's so much... well, just ridiculous advertising in the media that often I don't know whether to roll my eyes or be offended. I know it's mostly meant in jest, to be funny, but you have to imagine that someone will be offended - in this case, on a cultural level. I mean, way to alienate a consumer group!

I'm getting too fired up about this. ; ] I need to hush and get back to work.

That's one example. It's sad because Asian people are probably those least represented in the media, and the one time they are represented, it's like this. I mean, I personally am not "outraged," but it just, for lack of better words, sucks.
