More flags, more fun, more ridiculousness

OK...so I haven't done much Googling on the topic, but I'm surprised that no one's publicly up in arms about the new Six Flags commercial.  If you haven't seen it, it basically depicts an  Asian man with a more-than-likely feigned accent, rating the "funness" of every day activities in comparison to the fun a person can have at Six Flags.  The first time the commercial played and my brother and I heard the guy yell "MORE FLAGS, MORE FUN!" we just kind of looked at one another and chuckled.  Surely someone is going to find this commercial racist we thought aloud to one another.  We expected it to be off the air within a few days; however, to our surprise, not only does the commercial still run, but it has moved to the radio waves as well.

Where is the fun public uproar I expected?  This commercial is pretty degrading.  I mean, I guess it's not as funny to see a guy in a suit come on the screen with definite and indefinite articles intact and say, "Hey, Six Flags is a whole lot more fun than playing with hand puppets in the kitchen.  Go buy your season pass today!"  But still.  The guy sounds like he's narrating the foley off comic book pages...and much like my Fall 2007 Korean Old Testament teacher who disappeared off the face of the earth.  Lord forbid you should ever have to understand Hebrew words spoken with a Korean accent.

Anyway.  Seriously...where is the protest?

Can we start a riot?

Oh, to go along with my last entry, here's some neat information I learned from my Chaucer, Shakespeare, Milton teacher:

Do you know where the terms "uppercase" and "lowercase" come from?  When movable type was introduced, all the letters needed to arrange words were contained within two drawers/cases.  In one case, located higher than the other, were the capital letters, and in the lower drawer were the small letters.   Thus, we get the terms uppercase and lowercase.

You learn something new every day.
