Getting apprehensive

My start date at Microsoft has been set for April 9. It seems so close and yet so far away - in many ways I wish it would just be over. I've slowly started packing, mostly just to decide what to take and what to leave. Mum is of the opinion that Microsoft is paying for my relocation so I should just take everything, but I want to try to cut down to ( Read more... )

Exciting! How long are you going to be over there for? Seems like ages since I saw you last... suppose it'll be even longer now :P

When you say your fabric stash needs a loving home, what kind of fabrics are you talking about?

I'm going indefinetely - I think I'll give it 3.5 years then re-evaluate. I have all sorts of fabrics, mostly cotton (prints and plains), mostly in large quantities. Would you like some feasting gear and so forth?

Plain cottons in large quantities sounds good to me :) Feasting gear may be appreciated by the college? I hear they had a good number of sign-ups this year. Are you still in touch with any of them at all?

Get a Canadian Working Holiday Permit, come up to BC, swap your Australian licence for a BC one, then swap the BC one for a Washington State one? :P

On the one hand that sounds like an awesome wrought, but its probably easier just to take a few driving lessons when I'm over there.

I was looking up the application process for when you've not had a license, I was amused by the line (If you plan to practice for your driving test, you will need to get an instruction permit.). Nah, I wasn't planning on practicing, was just gonna rock up and hope it all went well.
