[He doesn't respond at first, his eyes gleaming, holding the body that isn't there. His skin is hot, feverish, his cells fighting off the toxin, which makes his mind race, all his senses sharpening further, to the point that it's almost difficult for him to sort out the sensory input. The hallucinations don't make it any easier.
At last, he notices the message, stares at it, breathing hard. He looks back at the body. An illusion. Could it be? He examines the vision more critically. He blinks. He can set it down. But he doesn't have to. It isn't really there. It vanishes. His friends are gone. There's nothing. He's alone.
That isn't an illusion, that feeling of isolation, of emptiness, but it's intensified tenfold now. Nonetheless, he manages to control himself enough to type a response.]

A SOLDIER can't afford to lose his reason; it's far too dangerous. He knows he is, in some senses, a weapon. He holds on to that single, rational word: illusion. That's something he can focus on, to tell him this fear isn't real. Angeal and Genesis can't be here. Shinra isn't here.]

[She was given a protective charm by Kelly Bridge, he had tried to protect her from her own ghosts but... they are all around her. Watching these others tormented by phantoms, it is all too familiar and Sephiroth's memories... Anna does not see him. She does not see his wings and silver hair. She sees only Lucie's dead body, the laboratory and cell beneath that house. The teneka snatches at them, blends her memories with the soldiers into a bizarre overlap on the PORTAL, all of the edges blurring and muddy.]

[He takes in what she says. It partially penetrates the fog of illusion. Some part of his mind recognizes that this cannot be real, for many reasons, but his emotional state is still heightened. His grief, his loneliness. He fears being alone, fears his own feeling. Most of all, he fears losing control.]

But other than that, he DOES sympathize with you, however unwillingly, over being a human experiment. He wouldn't wish that on anyone.]

Preliminary Assessment: Mass hysteria caused by induced hallucinations. Possible viral/chemical contaminants in water/air supply.
